Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finished their three-day trip to Vancouver and Whistler last week with a gala where they celebrated the Invictus Games in advance of the organization’s tenth anniversary later this year and 2025 event next February. Now, the couple is using their new website to share a few details from inside the Friday event, which featured a performance by the couple’s friend, Michael Bublé. Meghan, in a green dress by Greta Constantine, and Harry accepted blankets for their children as gifts from the Four Host First Nations, who are among the cosponsors for the 2025 Invictus Games.

Meghan and Harry visited Canada to attend the One Year to Go events for the 2025 Games, where they watched training camps for the new slate of winter sports that will premiere next year and met with injured veterans who are planning to participate. Harry also got an opportunity to try out adaptive skiing and get on a skeleton bobsled for a high-speed run down an ice track.

During the dinner at the Vancouver Convention Center, Harry gave a speech that mentioned the true meaning of the Games, which he founded after attending the US military’s Warrior Games for wounded service members in 2013. “The Invictus Games are not just a competition; they’re a way of life…a celebration of the human spirit,” he said. “The games provide a platform for us to showcase your abilities, to inspire the world, and honor the sacrifices of those we have lost. It is a reminder that we are not defined by our injuries, but by our strength, our commitment, and our ability to overcome adversity.”

According to People, Bublé told the gala dinner’s guests he was glad “we can show Harry and Meghan how beautiful this place is.” He then sang a special version of the song “My Way,” which altered the lyrics to praise Harry as a “visionary” and send “healing wishes” to King Charles III, who announced a cancer diagnosis earlier this month.

The Four Host First Nations, the Squamish, Lil’wat, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh, are joining a handful of corporate sponsors in supporting next year’s edition of the games. On Wednesday night, the couple visited the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Center in Whistler, where they met with a handful of Indigenous artists who designed the logo for the 2025 Games.
